U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that if Iran fails to comply with the recent agreement with Washington, the United States will take “necessary measures.”
Trump also claimed that Iran’s unfrozen assets should be used to purchase food from the United States. In response, Abdolnaser Hemmati, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, rejected the claim, saying that Tehran has no obligation to buy U.S. agricultural products and can use the funds to purchase other non-sanctioned goods.
A temporary agreement between Iran and the United States was reached last week after months of tension and military clashes between the two sides.
