Islamabad – Pakistan Army spokesperson and Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, accused Afghanistan’s Taliban government during a press briefing on Friday of using terrorism as its primary means of sustaining its economy, maintaining its rule, and ensuring its survival.
Chaudhry stated, “The business of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan is terrorism. Through terrorism, it finances its economy, maintains its governance, and secures its survival.”
He also claimed that the Taliban’s foreign policy is centered on terrorism, alleging that the group provides safe havens and support to armed organizations operating against Pakistan.
The army spokesperson stressed that Islamabad has no plans to negotiate with armed groups and that Pakistan’s security forces will continue military and intelligence-based operations against them.
According to Chaudhry, since the beginning of 2026, Pakistan’s security forces have carried out 40,348 intelligence-based operations, more than 31,000 of which were conducted in Balochistan Province. He added that during the same period, 3,145 terrorist incidents were recorded across Pakistan, while 2,084 militants were killed in security operations.
