Baghlan – Three people, including a woman and a child, were killed and five others were injured in a traffic accident in Afghanistan’s Baghlan Province.
The Taliban police command in Baghlan confirmed the incident, saying it occurred in the Husseinkhel area of Pul-e-Khumri, the provincial capital. According to the authorities, the crash was caused by a collision between two speeding vehicles.
According to estimates by the World Health Organization (WHO), nearly 9,700 people lose their lives in road traffic accidents in Afghanistan each year, with a road traffic fatality rate of approximately 24.1 deaths per 100,000 population.
