Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban government’s spokesperson, has revealed his real name in an exclusive interview with the BBC, saying that his real name is “Tahir Shah Siddiqi.”
Mujahid said that “Zabihullah Mujahid” was a pseudonym he used during the Taliban insurgency and for communicating with the media. After the Taliban returned to power in 2021, he continued to be known by the same name in the media and official circles.
According to published reports, the BBC described this as the first disclosure of the Taliban spokesperson’s real name.
Zabihullah Mujahid is a well-known figure in the Taliban government and has served as the group’s spokesperson for many years.
