Taliban Evacuate Khatam al-Nabieen Religious Seminary in Kabul

Forces affiliated with the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice evacuated the Khatam al-Nabieen Religious Seminary in western Kabul on Monday, September 7.

According to media reports, this Shia religious center had been surrounded by Taliban forces for the past two days, while the seminary’s officials and students had resisted the evacuation.

Sources told the media that Taliban forces eventually evacuated the center on Monday and took control of its building. Officials of the Khatam al-Nabieen Religious Seminary have also confirmed the incident.

The Taliban have so far made no official statement regarding the evacuation and takeover of the religious center.

The Khatam al-Nabieen Religious Seminary is considered one of the largest Shia religious educational institutions in Kabul.
