A Bangladeshi citizen says his mobile phone, which was stolen in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, was located in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, about two months later through Samsung’s tracking system.
Mohammad Munir Hossain told Afghanistan International TV that he had purchased a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra on August 7 this year for 112,500 Bangladeshi taka, equivalent to approximately $910. However, two days later, while boarding a bus in Dhaka, his phone was stolen from his pocket.
According to Hossain, he filed a complaint with the Dhaka police on August 18 following the incident. The documents provided show that he purchased the phone before it was stolen and subsequently reported its disappearance to the police.
Screenshots of Samsung’s tracking application provided by the Bangladeshi citizen show the phone’s location in Kabul. However, the identity of the person currently in possession of the phone and how it was transported from Bangladesh to Afghanistan remain unknown.
