Saleh Mohammad Registani, a senior commander of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, has announced his return to Afghanistan and his presence in the Hindu Kush region.
On Monday, the National Resistance Front released a video showing Mr. Registani in a mountainous area. In the video, Registani said: “After a difficult period of interruption for us, we are once again in our homeland, serving our people and in the Hindu Kush.”
He added that “the resistance continues” and claimed that several other fronts in different parts of Afghanistan have also “raised the flag of resistance” and are operating against the Taliban.
The National Resistance Front confirmed to Afghanistan International that Saleh Mohammad Registani has returned to Afghanistan and that the released video is recent.
However, details regarding the exact location where the video was recorded have not been independently verified.
