Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, said in a televised interview that Iran is not stronger than the United States in terms of military capabilities, financial resources, experience, and overall capacity.
Referring to the recent tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, he claimed that the Islamic Republic did not “destroy” the United States or Israel, but instead achieved its objectives “on the battlefield,” and therefore considers itself the victor in the confrontation.
Qalibaf also criticized opponents of negotiations with the United States, saying that combining diplomacy with national strength could be part of Iran’s broader strategy in dealing with Washington.
