Residents of Kandahar say they heard loud explosions early Thursday morning in the “Sarai Mullah Sahib” area within Kandahar city.
According to local sources, the explosions occurred in the early morning hours and were heard in parts of Kandahar city. No precise and independently verified information has yet been released regarding casualties or damage caused by the incident.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani military has announced that, in a retaliatory operation, it carried out airstrikes against positions in several Afghan provinces. The Pakistani military said the strikes were conducted in response to drones entering Pakistani territory and what Islamabad described as a “violation of its territorial integrity.”
