Khalid Hanafi, the Taliban’s Minister for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, says the group will not be influenced by criticism or “negative propaganda” in its implementation of Islamic Sharia rulings.
Criticizing global opposition to the restrictions imposed on women and girls in Afghanistan, he said that human rights in the country are ensured in accordance with “Islamic principles.”
The Taliban’s Minister for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice stressed that the group will continue implementing laws and regulations it considers to be in accordance with Islamic Sharia.
His remarks come as the Taliban’s widespread restrictions on women and girls in Afghanistan, including bans on education and higher education, have faced widespread domestic and international criticism.
