Afghanistan's Jamiat-e Islami Party, led by Salahuddin Rabbani, has issued a statement condemning the Taliban's treatment of protesters in Yaftal District, Badakhshan Province, describing it as a "crime."

According to the statement, Taliban forces showed disrespect toward local residents and opened fire on the protesters, resulting in several people being killed and injured, the party claims.

Jamiat-e Islami also expressed its support for what it called the citizens' "legitimate right to self-defense" and urged the people of Badakhshan Province to remain united and organized in confronting what the party described as the Taliban's "oppression and ظلم" (oppression and injustice).

The party further stated that the Taliban would ultimately face a "memorable defeat" in the face of the will of the Afghan people.

These remarks were published in a statement issued by Afghanistan's Jamiat-e Islami Party under the leadership of Salahuddin Rabbani. As of now, the Taliban have not released any response to the statement.
