Hezb-e Wahdat-e Islami Afghanistan, led by Mohammad Karim Khalili, says the Taliban have intensified restrictions on Shia religious ceremonies with the arrival of the month of Muharram.
In a statement, the party described these measures as part of a process of the "systematic marginalization" of the Hazara and Shia communities. It also expressed concern over the reported closure of several mosques and cultural centers, as well as the detention of a number of Shia individuals.
The Taliban have not yet responded to these claims.
