The Afghanistan National Liberation Front has claimed that a convoy of vehicles belonging to the “Afghan-Chinese” company, associated with Haji Bashir Noorzai, was ambushed by forces affiliated with the front in Khanabad District of Kunduz Province.
The front said the incident occurred on Thursday evening, September 17, 2026, at around 8:30 p.m., while the convoy was traveling toward Takhar Province.
According to the group’s claim, four Taliban security personnel responsible for protecting the convoy were killed in the incident.
The front further claimed that two cargo trucks carrying equipment related to mining operations were completely destroyed.
The Afghanistan National Liberation Front said that the illegal extraction and exploitation of Afghanistan’s mineral resources is contrary to the national interest and that no group has the right to illegally exploit the country’s natural resources and national wealth.
The front also claimed that its forces will target activities related to what it described as the “plundering of the country’s resources” and will respond to such activities.
