General Christopher Donahue, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Europe and Africa, is set to step down from his position on July 2, 2026.

Donahue has led the command since December 2024, and his approximately 18-month tenure is now coming to an end.

He is widely recognized in Afghanistan as the last U.S. service member to leave Kabul, boarding a military transport aircraft on August 30, 2021, marking the end of the United States' 20-year military presence in Afghanistan.
