Haroon Najafizada, an Afghan journalist, wrote on his X account on Tuesday, October 13, that Abdul Rashid Dostum, leader of Afghanistan’s National Islamic Movement, had prepared his son, Yarmohammad Dostum, for battle.
Najafizada did not provide further details on the matter.
Yarmohammad Dostum took part in battles against the Taliban in northern Afghanistan during the final days of the former Afghan Republic, particularly in Jawzjan Province and the city of Sheberghan. At the time, he took part in operations alongside government forces and popular uprising forces against the Taliban.
