Trump’s Approval Rating Falls to the Lowest Level of His Current Presidency

According to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll, approval of U.S. President Donald Trump’s job performance has fallen to 33%, marking the lowest approval rating of his current presidency.

The four-day poll, which concluded on Monday, August 17, found that 64% of respondents said they disapproved of Trump’s performance in the White House. His approval rating stood at 35% in the previous poll.

According to Reuters, Trump’s declining popularity comes amid growing concerns about the possibility of a prolonged U.S. war with Iran. Around 80% of Americans surveyed said they expect U.S. involvement in Iran to continue for a long time. Only about 20% said the war with Iran had been worth its costs.

Reuters reported that Trump’s 33% approval rating matches the lowest level recorded during his first presidency, which was reached in December 2017.

The poll surveyed 1,166 American adults and had a margin of error of approximately three percentage points.
