The United Afghanistan Front, led by General Sami Sadat, has called former members of the Afghan army and security forces who are currently serving in the Taliban’s ranks “traitors” and has given them 15 days to leave the group’s ranks.
In a video message and statements published on social media on Sunday, 25 Asad 1405, corresponding to August 16, 2026, the front warned that those who remain in the Taliban’s ranks after the deadline expires will face action from the group.
According to the statement, the warning is particularly directed at former military personnel who are working with the Taliban in technical, air force, and intelligence-related sectors.
The United Afghanistan Front claims that by joining the Taliban, these individuals have violated their military oath and are cooperating with a group that the front holds responsible for the suppression of former security forces and human rights violations in Afghanistan.
The group, which announced its establishment in the United States in 1402, has also claimed since the beginning of Asad this year that it has carried out armed operations against the Taliban in several provinces, including Kandahar, Helmand, and Badghis. The United Afghanistan Front has stated that its goal is to restore the rule of the previous constitution and end Taliban rule.
The Taliban have so far made no official statement regarding this warning or the United Afghanistan Front’s recent claims.
