General Mobeen, a media figure affiliated with the Taliban, has shared a video of his wedding ceremony on social media.
In the video, he is seen welcoming guests at a wedding hall. Several armed men in military uniforms are also visible around him, while decorative flower garlands are placed around his neck.
According to reports, this is General Mobeen’s third marriage. After the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August 2021, he served for a period as the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Kabul Police Command. He had also previously been detained by the Taliban for a time.
Polygamy among some Taliban members and commanders remains a controversial issue. Although reports have emerged of second, third, and even fourth marriages among some members of the group, there are no official or independently verified statistics on how widespread the practice is.
